About Me

Why I chose to be a Strategic Life Coach.

My background is in social work and I have worked over 20 years with many people going through very difficult times. I have helped them reach their goals and get back to living the life they deserved.

When I was working at the homeless shelter, I worked with many different types of people. I even worked with several ex-athletes who were once famous in their sport. Unfortunately, due personal issues that they did not know how to deal with, they had become homeless.

In a split second, they were at the top of their game and then their world came crashing down due to an injury, forced retirement or other issue they did not know how to handle.

To them they had nothing and were nothing. Their whole world changed over- night and they did not have any coping skills on how to not be “the athlete” they had been all their life. That was their whole identity. Then because of the bad choices they made they had they lost everything and were now homeless.

Helping these men was a humbling and rewarding experience. But it also made me think about my life.

As much as I loved my job, I realized that I was not living the life that I wanted.  I loved helping people, but I was feeling lost and stuck in my career. I realized that I was missing something in my life, and I was not living my own life. I had been a daughter, sister, wife, a mom and an employee. I had forgotten about me and What makes me “me”? I also realized that I had put everyone else in my life first. I dealt with my own struggles and the ups and downs of my life, while worrying about and taking care of everyone else.

One day after having a crappy day at work and stuck sitting in traffic on the drive home, I knew I had to start taking care of me. Put me first. I had to live my life for me not for anyone else. I had to give myself the permission to say “No” & Do something just for me. I thought of the saying, “if you want a happy home, keep mom happy”. Then, I said why am I not keeping me happy?

This was not easy for me to do right away but I realized how important it was. I knew that if I did not start taking care of myself and make some drastic changes in my life, I was going to keep feeling out of balance and lost. I wanted to be the best me as well as the best mom and wife. I had to learn to be, me and love me. It was time for me to shine!

My friends, family and those close to me always told me that I was their “go-to person” when they needed help or had a problem.

So, I looked at my career experience, friendships, education and passion for life to point me in the right direction in my career. The idea of helping others as a Life Coach was the natural choice and next step for me to take. I know I want to help people with their journey in life and help them reach their full potential as well as helping them “try to figure out what they want to be when they grow up.”

For fun, I enjoy watching sports. One of my favorite things to do is to go to Tampa Bay Lightning Games or watch them on TV.  I also love going out to different places to eat and trying new food. However, the most important thing to me is my family and the time I spend with them.

So now it is your time to take the next step and contact me today to Embrace, Empower and Energize your life with my plans and allow me to work with you as your new Strategic Life Coach. Let’s get started in “Creating the Life You Can’t Wait to Wake Up To.”

Thank you,

Rebecca
